Short version
FreeAudioTranscription turns speech into text in your browser. Your audio and transcript are not uploaded to FreeAudioTranscription servers for transcription. We do not use cookies.
What stays on your device
- Audio files you select or record
- Transcript text shown on the page
- Files the browser may keep so return visits can start faster
- Theme, crash-recovery, and timing notes in local storage (not cookies)
What we fetch from the network
The website itself is served over the internet. When needed, the page may also download files that let transcription run on your device. That download is not your recording.
Analytics
We do not currently collect transcription analytics. If anonymous usage stats are added later (for example success/fail and timings — never your audio or transcript text), this page will be updated and you will be able to opt out.
Cookies
We do not use cookies, so there is no cookie banner. Theme choice, a crash-recovery note, and a short timing hint stay in local storage on your device. We do not read those notes on a server.
Ads
No third-party ad scripts ship today. If advertising is added later, this policy will be updated.
